OPERATION AND SAFETY TRAINING OF AERIAL LIFTING DEVICES

BUCKET TRUCKS/ VAN LIFTS/ SIGN VEHICLES/ TREE TRUCKS/CHERRY PICKERS/ TRUCK EQUIPMENT/ DTAX-44/ DVS-29/ ALL MAKES/MODELS OF AERIAL LIFTS

OSHA and ANSI safety standards for aerial lifts! According to Standards – 29 CFR section 1926.453(b)(2)(ii), Only authorized persons shall operate an aerial lift. Operation and Safety Training procedures are a must when being introduced to an aerial lifting device. OSHA requires that ALL persons be trained in the proper operation and safety of any aerial lift device PRIOR to operating. Although safety and operational training is not a law, many workplaces require their employees to participate in this safety training prior to authorization of operating an aerial lift device. THIS IS STANDARD SAFETY PROCEDURE AND SAFETY SHOULD ALWAYS COME FIRST!

The nature of this operation and safety training course is very specific and can be tailored to include any or all of the aerial equipment you may have on-site. One of our skilled aerial lift operators will conduct this training and will answer any questions you may have pertaining to the safe operation of your lift. Each participant will receive a signed and dated “certificate of training” noting the specific aerial lift model(s) in which training was performed and where this training took place.

Operation and Safety Training can be performed at your location or ours. Call today to schedule a safety training class that meets your needs. 1-800-717-LIFT (5438)

ANSI – American National Standards Institute

OSHA – Occupational Safety & Health Administration

LANYARD – ANSI approved line designed for supporting one person, with one end fastened to a safety belt or full body harness, and the other end secured to a safety line or structural member. Lanyards shall not exceed 6′ in length, and preferably include a ‘shock-absorber’ to minimize fall impact.

AERIAL LIFT – A piece of equipment, extendible and/or articulating, designed to position personnel and/or materials in elevated locations.

FULL BODY SAFETY HARNESS – ANSI approved body device designed for fall protection, which by reason of its attachment to a lanyard and safety line or structure will limit a fall to 6′ or less. A full body harness is the preferred device for fall protection in aerial lift devices. However, safety body belts may be used as ‘positioning devices’ in aerial lift equipment, where employees stand with both feet on the floor of the bucket or platform; and are an acceptable alternative to harnesses only in this application. Because aerial lifts have passive fall protection systems, the intent of the belt is to keep the occupant(s) in the device upon impact.
